In past years, NAMC hosted a spring book drive to collect books for North Aurora students. Community members donate new and gently-used children’s books at sites around town. In May, NAMC brings the books to each North Aurora elementary school so that students may select a free book to keep.
No book drives are currently scheduled. Check back next year for updates.
Monetary Donations
All donations to NAMC are recognized within the organization, as well as in event publications and on our website and Facebook page where applicable. Donations to a 501(c)(3) organization are tax deductible as allowed by Illinois law.
How this benefits children, families and the community
Communities can help serve as a bridge for summer reading. Scholastic has released research reports with data on the summer slide awareness gap, summer reading trends, diminished access to books over the summer, the power of choice in encouraging and keeping kids reading, and more.
